Hello, fellow educators!
My name is Alana from Exceptional Education Canada, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my blog.
Like many of you, my passion lies in the field of Special Education. I believe that every child, regardless of their abilities, has the potential to learn, grow, and shine. Over the years, I’ve gathered a wealth of knowledge that has proven invaluable in my journey as a Special Education teacher.
Here I hope to share these insights with you to make your journey a little easier, too. So, whether you’re a seasoned special education teacher or just starting out, I hope you’ll find something here that inspires you, challenges you, and most importantly, helps your students thrive.
A bit about me…
In my 24 years of teaching, I have grown and learned all about Special Education. I have taught everything from ASD Life Skills classes to alternative education for students with behaviour challenges. Through all of my experiences, there have been so many lessons learned.
So many different educators who are working in special education want to support their students but aren’t quite sure where and how to start.
Additionally, there are limited resources available for curriculum delivery in Special Education, especially for contained classrooms. This is why I am putting what I know out there through this blog. I want to help you and your students!
I also create resources specifically for Special Education students to support teachers with Job/Vocational Skills, Functional Literacy & Numeracy, Life Skills, and Behaviour Management.
Where to find me
You can find me on TPT or Etsy to check out the resources available. There are some free ones, too!
If you have any suggestions for resources that you would love to see, please reach out to me at [email protected], I can’t wait to hear from you!
Through this blog I will provide strategies, suggestions, and resources to support Special Education teachers and parents along their journeys.
Thank You, I’m so glad you’re here!
Thank you for joining me on this journey, here’s to making a difference, one student at a time!!
