Hi, I’m Alana
Blog Posts with Strategies, Tips and Special Education Resources for Teachers and Parents

Thank you for joining me here for Blog Posts and Special Education Resources for Teachers and Parents from Exceptional Education CA and The ADHD Teacher Mom! I am a passionate and dedicated special education and secondary teacher. My goal is to share what I have learned about teaching Special Education for the last 24 years.
I am also a teacher and mom with ADHD, sharing my journey in education, special education, and life!
We are all still learning, even those of us who have been doing this for a long time, and I would love for you to follow along with my on this journey.
I have worked with students of all diagnoses and have extensive training with Autism and Behaviour Management. Recently, I completed my Masters of Education in literacy for teens with Learning Disabilities. In addition to this blog, I create and sell resources for parents and teachers like you! These include task box activities, social stories, and job skills resources for students that I use in my own classroom.
Why Am I Sharing Special Education Resources for Teachers?
My goal is to have a variety of topics here on this blog. I want them to include planning and goal setting, classroom setup, TEACCH, independent work stations, task box activities, behaviour management, social skills, resource creation, and more!
I try very hard to make this information relevant to beginning and seasoned teachers. My hope is that it is presented in a way that is approachable and engaging.
I would love to hear from you, what are your wins, your challenges, your frustrations? My goal here is to also build a community of teachers and parents focused on supporting our exceptional learners.
If you would like to see a topic covered, or have a resource in mind that you would love to see in my TPT or Teachshare shops, let me know! If you want to stay up to date on what posts and resources are coming next, join my email list to stay in the know (and get a freebie when you do!).
I hope you find the information here to be helpful, and I can’t wait to hear from you!
XO Alana from Exceptional Education CA
